Hello children! Welcome to KidsCast Junior! We will be talking about the 7 wonders of the World. 

First let's talk what is a wonder?

A wonder is a building or an amazing place where when people go they are surprised and amazed and wonder how is it made!!

So, now you know what is a wonder so let's start with our topic 7 wonders of the world!

1. Great Wall of China:

 

Great Wall of China is the longest wall ever made! It is around 6500 kms long... It was made by people of China so that they could get protected by cruel warriors of Mongol.

It took many years for it to get built completely. It is located in China.

2. Statue of Christ The Redeemer:

This statue is a tall statue! It is around 40 meters high. It was made on Corcovado Mountain in Brazil. It took 9 years to get this statue completely built. It started in 1922 and ended in 1931. It was built by French, Roman and Brazillian people together. This statue is the statue of Christ, who is the redeemer!

3. Machu Picchu:

Machu Picchu is believed to be a city made of shiny granite (a rock). It is located in between two andean peaks. This city was lost in 15 century. In 1911 some people found it again. It is located in Peru. It is one of the most visited places in whole Peru.

4.Chichen Itza:

This building shows up the Mayan culture beautifully. It was first a place from where stars and moon were seen by people but because of its nice look it became a very visited place in Mexico and then became a wonder!

5.Colosseum:

It was built between 70 A.D and 80 A.D. and here 50,000 people can sit in it at one time! Earlier it was a main place where people gathered but over the years after earthquakes, floods and lightning it got damaged but still because of its beauty it is one of the 7 wonders and is located in Italy.

6. Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal is a vey beautiful building which is also a wonder! It was built by a king named Shah Jahan. He had built it so that he could remember his dead wife. Taj Mahal is completely made up of white marble (a stone) and its outer sorroundings add up to its beauty. It is watched by thousands of people everyday. It is located in India.

7. Petra

This is a beautiful building , isn't it! This building was made by many people together who made this by carving it on a very big rock. Inside this building there is a place where 4,000 people can sit at one time. It is located in Jordan.
