Hey Kids, Welcome again to KidsCast! Today, let's talk about the shortest flight in the world! You must be surprised after seeing the header image, that the World's Shortest flight's duration is only 57 Seconds! Let us learn more about this flight! 


        
World's Shortest flight is operated by the Scottish Airline Company: Loganair. This flying company mostly operate flights in Scotland, United Kingdom. Anyway, about the shortest flight in the world, it is operational in two islands in Scotland, named Westray and Papa Westray. There isn't a bridge or something to connect these two islands, so Loganair Company established flights from Westray to Papa Westray and vice versa. The Distance of this flight from both the airports of the two islands is 1.7 Miles (2.7 km). But the most fascinating fact about this flight is its duration!


Yes, it is true! The time which takes in this flight to Papa Westray to Westray or vice versa is approximately 57 Seconds! However when the weather is not good and there is rain, thunderstorm, etc. then it maximum takes 2 minutes! Amazing right? 

Imagine you sit in the airplane, fasten your seat belts, and ask for something to eat! And surprisingly, there is nothing for refreshments! After all this flight is only 57 seconds long, so until you will start drinking your milkshake, the flight would have landed! Whoa, it is really crazy and amazing!
