What are Hyperloops? - The Future of Transportation!
Hello Kids! Welcome back to KidsCast! Today you will learn about a new mode of transport introduced in the world which is even faster than aeroplane! And do you all know, that its working is also very different from other means of transport and this unique working only makes this transport the fastest mode of transport in this whole world. By the way did you guys check what is it? Yes, it is Hyperloop.
What are Hyperloops?
So now we think that yo all would be keen to know after the introduction that what exactly is Hyperloop? So, Hyperloop is basically a proposed plan or mode of transport which will mainly be used for passengers and goods. Especially those goods and passengers whose really want to reach their destination very fast. It is a bit costly, of course it will be when it is even faster than aeroplane.
How do Hyperloops work?
So now, we will be telling you how does Hyperloops work. So, hyperloops mainly work on the concept of Levitation. That means that hyperloops is a bit in air which makes it faster. Hyperloops can certainly not run on the road. There are special tubes that are made which do not allow any air to enter inside which is a part of its speed. This is done because when air is there in enormous amount at the sea level, it makes friction which opposes the high speed. These special tubes when do not allow air to enter inside it, the hyperloops can travel faster because there is no friction to oppose its motion and speed. Because of no air, the pressure in the tubes is about 100 Pascals (the unit to measure pressure). The tubes provide a vacuum to hyperloops. However, creating vacuums for large distances is very costly.

Structure of Hyperloop
The Hyperloop structure operates by specially designed "pods" through a steel tube maintained at a partial vacuum. In the original concept, each pod would float on a 0.02–0.05 mm in layer of air provided under pressure to air-caster "skis", allowing higher speeds than wheels can sustain. With rolling motion removal and air resistance reduced to almost no, the pods can glide for the journey. In the alpha design concept, an electrically driven inlet fan and axial compressor would be placed at the nose of the pod to actively transfer high pressure air from the front to the rear of the pod, resolving the problem of atmospheric pressure which builds in front of the vehicle and slows it down.
Foundation:
Now we will tell you who actually made the first hyperloop and invented it. So, Robert H. Goddard in 1904 first told about the vactrain concept, but Elon Musk was the first one who is also the founder of Tesla told that he could get the 5th mode of transport, which he named as Hyperloop. To start his work, Engineers from Tesla and SpaceX came together and worked on this mega project to make it a success.
Best Hyperloop Companies
Some best companies who build hyperloop are-
Virgin is currently the best company in the field of Hyperloops. It recently also received the proposed project of connecting Pune and Mumbai cities in India with Hyperloop.
Hyperloop Transportation Technologies is ranked number 2 in this field. It was the first company registered for building of Hyperloops. It had got a project to connect Abu Dhabi and Al Ain cities in UAE with Hyperloop.
3. TransPod
TransPod is ranked number 3 in this field. It got the project of connecting Toronto and Windsor cities in Canada with Hyperloop.
Disadvantages:
When there are advantages of Hyperloops, there are also many disadvantages, some of them are-
1. There are some times chances of its failure as the network of tubes is very vast.
2. As the tubes are completely sealed allowing zero ventilation, there maybe health emergencies.
3. Due to the heat, the steel tubes may expand and change its size.
4. Due to super speed, passengers may face a risk of its speed.
5. Even one puncture in the tube will lead to loss of life, property and economy.
6. Too costly to get built up.
Elon Musk said, "Building Hyperloops on Mars is the easiest and very affective." This is because on mars, hyperloops won't require tubes because of the atmosphere as its atmosphere is just the suitable situation for a hyperloop to run in its original speed.
So kids, this is all for this long yet interesting article. We hope that you would have enjoyed reading the article and learning about a super sonic vehicle which is changing the whole transport world making it more affective and faster for those who really need it. This would also help in the progress of communication. So kids, for a time being, bye, but don't worry, we will be back with amazing posts soon. So kids, bye. Stay Stay Healthy and Happy Learning.
