The core area or city of Venice is an island, which actually looks like floating areas of houses. This core city is connected to the mainland of Italy through a bridge (road), and to other islands via boats. One can only walk or do boating in this city, and cannot drive a vehicle, because there are no roads! Venice is also the capital city of Northern Italy's Veneto Region. The city has lots of canals, through which people can travel through the city, enjoying the boating experience. Venice city region, total consists of more than 100 islands!
