Anyways, let's learn about Mirages in detail! So, what actually is a mirage? A mirage is an image but it is really not there! Generally, mirages are most seen near water or flat surfaces like you can see in the cover photo of this post. Now that we know, what a mirages is, let's learn about "When do Mirages Occur?" Mirages occur when the ground is very hot and the air is cool. The ground warms the air that is just above the ground. When the light moves through this air which is cool and warm the light is bent.
