It's known as the "Golden City" because of the golden sands of the Thar Desert that surround it. Now, let us visit this magical place! History of Jaisalmer: The origins of Jaisalmer can be traced back to the 12th century when Rawal Jaisal, a Bhati Rajput king, founded the city. Legend says that Jaisal, the youngest of six sons, established the city after consulting a hermit named Eesaal. He chose Trikuta Hill as the site for his new capital and built a majestic fort on top of it, which came to be known as Jaisalmer Fort or Sonar Quila.
