Transportation is the way of moving people or goods from one place to another. It is important because it is used to travel to different places or send different things to different places and cities. For Example, when you travel in a car, you are using Transport and you are transporting yourself. 




Means of Transport means the ways of Transporting yourself. The three Means of Transport are: 

  1. Land Transport 
  2. Water Transport
  3. Air Transport

In Land Transportation, there are vehicles like Car, Jeep, Bicycle, Bus, Motorbike, and Train. While Cars, Buses, Jeeps and such vehicles are drove on roads whereas vehicles like Metro, Train and Monorail are drove on Rail. 

In Water Transportation, there are vehicles like Boat, Ship and Yacht which are drove in water. Such vehicles run in water bodies like lakes, rivers, ponds, seas and oceans.

In Air Transportation, there are vehicles like Aeroplane, Helicopter and Hot Air Balloon which fly in the air. Such transportation are the fastest, especially the aeroplanes are so fast that they are used to fly to long distance places.
