Are Drones our Future? Let's See!

Hey Kids! Welcome back to KidsCast! We're glad to see you again! Well not 'see', because you are reading this article, but yeah! So, have you ever heard of drones? Sometimes it's confusing because drones are two things: Quadcopter drones, and Military aircraft drones. But we are talking about Quadcopter drones! Well, they are trendy these days, because... Well, there are many reasons for it! They are smart-looking, cool, and easy to fly! But the question for this article is, will these quadcopter drones be our future? Will they be super common in the future? Well, let's know and so let's begin!

What are Quadcopter Drones?

So before we discuss will these machines be in our future, it will be a good idea to know a bit more about them. So, Quadcopter Drones are small flying machines, with four propellers, which kind of look like small fans. These propellers help these drones to lift from the ground and fly in the air. These drones are controlled by someone manually, from a remote control machine. Sometimes, these drones can also be controlled via Mobile Apps. But what is cooler, is that these drones have sensors and cameras, which allow or help them to click or capture photos and videos from the air, while flying! They are amazing when you want to make a video or capture a picture from the air. They are often nowadays popular as toys too, for kids and teenagers, who like to fly these drones. 

These drones are, for now, currently used for search, rescue, aerial photography, delivery, and even for entertainment. Ever heard of drone shows? They happen when these drones fly while changing the colour of the lights which are attached to them. They are beautiful! Below, is one picture of a drone show making a shape of an aeroplane:

Are drones our future? 

We know what is future. Whenever we say Future, it means the time of after some years from today, in the future. So, will these drones be in the future? Let's decide! 

So as we got to know, these days drones are already being used for clicking photos, shooting videos, and movies, participating in drone shows and searching for something. But delivery by drones is happening, but slowly. Meaning? Well, companies and governments are still testing such drone deliveries, and if they are great and successful, drone delivery might become very common! Companies like Amazon and Google are already doing such research and conducting drone deliveries. And if these deliveries are great, reliable and efficient, they might become reality, in the future!

Also, it is said that drone deliveries can make the environment clean and green, as less main transportation will be used, and the Carbon Dioxide and other air pollution gases will be lesser than normal! So it's a plus point! Also, drone deliveries can deliver packages faster and more easily. They would also reduce traffic, as there will be fewer delivery vehicles. 

Another advancement of drones can be better, faster and easier transportation. Such a concept of drones can be used to make Drone-cars, and vehicles which can fly using the concept of such drones, which will be large in size, of course! Companies like Uber and Airbus are already working and researching this concept, where vehicles could be lifted and flown by drones. The point is, this could make travelling and transportation fun, reliable, faster, and easier. And the best part, these drones will be autonomous, which means automatic, or could fly themselves, using technology and AI! The quadcopter drones could also do other jobs like watering plants, taking care of plans, and doing farming in the Agriculture field, city maintenance work, etc.

In the Entertainment industry, drones are already contributing. They help to capture aerial views with their cameras. They help to provide super videos and pictures of various aerial views. So they will be in fact, more used for entertainment purposes!

However, there are a few problems with drones too, if they become too common. Though drones could do so many new jobs if they will be in our future, they will also lead to a few problems. Let's see the negative impacts of Drones becoming our future.

Disadvantages of Drones becoming too common:

• Drones can interrupt people's privacy. By privacy, it means people's daily lives, their personal time, moments and time. If drones become very common, then anyone can spy on others with drones, and it is not a very welcoming action. 
• Drones can harm birds, wildlife, and nature. Their fast-moving propellers can hurt animals. 
• They can crash amongst themselves in some cases, and even hurt any person. They can also damage property, plants, trees, houses, etc. 
• The drone Cars concept will be very expensive and they must be very carefully developed in order to make a safe transportation system. 
• Too many drones in the air could also spread a lot of noise pollution. Even peace would be disturbed by their noisy flying sounds.
• They can disturb and disrupt ecosystems and the environment too. 

Conclusion, Yes or No?

It's an obvious fact that with full confidence we cannot say whether something will happen or not, because Yesterday is History, and Tomorrow is a MYSTERY! But we can surely predict. So in short, the conclusion is:

Yes, drones could change the way we will deliver things, and travel and these drones would also do many other jobs, and might become common in populated cities, due to high demand. In fact, drones could change cities! However, we also must understand the disadvantages of Drones becoming very common, and we should conclude the limitations of these drones because we don't want these drones to be unwanted little machines in cities which produce a lot of noise! We must ensure that they are user-friendly, people-friendly and environment-friendly. On the other hand, we could also wish for a future where technological progress will give drones options to do good jobs like help in minor jobs and delivering. 

The exact future? Well, we will soon get to know... But for now, it's a mystery!  ;)
