  Hey children! Welcome to KidsCast! Today, we are going to talk on a really tasty topic! The Invention of the Potato Chips ! Yeah, it sounds amazing. The potato chips you eat, has an amazing History. In fact, the potato chips were invented by a mistake! So let us start with this article. Years ago, in 1853, when it was summer, a customer was waiting for his dinner in a restaurant. This restaurant's name was: Moon Lake's House and was located in Saratoga Springs, New York (in the USA). As he wanted to try something new, he told George Crum, the chef to make him something off the menu of the restaurant. The chef sliced off the potatoes, fried them, added some salt, and prepared a new dish. He served it to the customer, however, the customer didn't like the dish and told the chef to make it again. Have you ever wondered where or how much big the tallest volcano would be?  Well no worries! We are here to solve all your queries about it.  Olympus Mons  is an enormous shield   volcanic mountain  on the planet Mars . The volcano has a height of 21 km (13 miles). Amazing right? This was measured by the Mars orbiter laser altimeter (MOLA).  Olympus Mons is about two and a half times Mount Everest's  height above sea level. Hello Children! As today is Earth Day , hence we had written this Article. Children, did you know plastic was first made by accident in 1907 by a Belgian-American chemist Leo Baekeland? The same plastic that was a new discovery then is now ending up in natural environments like the oceans that disrupt many aquatic life forms. Plastic pollution was first noticed as a problem when scientists were carrying out the plankton study in the late 1960s and the early 1970s. During researching the Sargasso Sea marine biologist Ed Carpenter first found white specks floating around brown sargassum seaweed later they realized it was plastic.
